National Marathon Championships
The British National Open Marathon Racing Individual and Team Championships take place on an annual basis to identify various National Champions in the standard marathon distance. It also commonly used as an assessment event for the World Championships.
Paddlers compete within the following National Championship categories for both male and female categories over the approximate distances :
- Senior Kayak : 26km
- Senior Canoe : 13km
- Under 23 Kayak : 26km
- Under 18 Kayak : 20km
- Under 18 Canoe : 6.5km
- Under 16 Kayak : 13km
- Under 14 Kayak : 6.5km
- Under 12 Kayak : 6.5km
- Under 10 Kayak : 3.5km
- Over 34 Kayak : 20km for men and 13km for women
- Over 39 Kayak : 20km for men and 13km for women
- Over 44 Kayak : 13km
- Over 49 Kayak : 13km
- Over 54 Kayak : 6.5km
- Over 59 Kayak : 6.5km
- Over 64 Kayak : 6.5km
- Over 69 Kayak : 6.5km
- Mixed doubles crews : 13km open to all senior, veterans and juniors and must consist of one female and one male paddler
The Spanish House Trophy is awarded to the club scoring the most points at the National Championships and The Spanish Galleon is awarded to the club scoring the most points in the junior age categories.
