Junior Development Squad: Winter Series 22/23 – Event 1 Sign-Up
The MRC, SRC and BC Talent Department are excited to announce that sign-up for the first JDS day of the 22/23 Winter Series opens today.

To attend these days, your paddlers needs to meet an eligibility criteria.
The eligibility criteria for Kayak paddlers is as follows:
- U13 or aboveÂ
- Girls – Girls C or above (Sprint Division) and/or Div 5 marathon or above for U16’s / Div 4 marathon or above for U18’s
- Boys – Boys C or above (Sprint Divisions) and/or Div 4 marathon or above for U16’s or Div 3 marathon or above for U18’s
The eligibility criteria for Canoe paddlers is as follows:
- U13 or above
- Girls & Boys – Any paddler who has competed at a Sprint National Regatta
Additionally, coaches who are working with athletes in any discipline who have not met the criteria above, can put forward athletes they believe would benefit from the day. To do this, please contact Charlie Barwis or Holly Mobbs.
The JDS is also aimed at coaches seeking to develop their knowledge and engage with like-minded coaches. Coaches can be from clubs with paddlers in attendance, or from clubs which don’t, what’s key though is a desire to learn, engage and share ideas.
